About the Founder
Specialist Assessor and Clinical Director
I am the founder of This is Dyslexia and This is NeuroLearning.

For over 23 years, I worked in education as a teacher and SENCo, supporting children with dyslexia, ADHD, autism and learning differences.

Today, I run a private assessment and neurodevelopment practice supporting families across the UK.

My work bridges two essential stages:
Diagnostic clarity.
Structured implementation.

My Approach
When families understand how a brain works, everything changes. Shame reduces. Strategy increases. Progress becomes measurable. Confidence rebuilds.

I believe in:

• Strengths-based identification
• Structured, sequenced intervention
• Regulation before demand
• Protecting wellbeing alongside attainment
• Transparent, assessment-informed support
When introduced in the right order, meaningful progress becomes possible.

Families are never left to navigate this alone. Recommendations are made thoughtfully, with ongoing review and adjustment as a child develops.
My role is to bring evidence, clarity and structured progression to families who want more than guesswork.
More about Laura
Today, through the sister company This Is Dyslexia and This is NeuroLearning, I provide assessment-led, structured, evidence-informed support for children and adults across the UK. My approach is never generic tutoring. It is diagnostic, strategic and individualised.
Every pathway begins with data, not assumptions.

I retrained as a specialist teacher because I wanted to understand the cognitive and neurodevelopmental foundations of learning differences.

My expertise spans:
• Dyslexia
• ADHD
• Autism spectrum conditions
• Dyscalculia
• Working memory and processing vulnerabilities
• Executive function differences

Alongside my professional training, I have a particular academic interest in neuroscience and biohacking. I am fascinated by how brain-based research, cognitive science and regulation theory can be applied ethically and practically to strengthen learning, resilience and cognitive endurance. I continually engage with current research so that my work reflects evolving scientific understanding rather than outdated educational narratives.

My philosophy is simple: clarity is the kindest intervention.

I work online across the UK, providing specialist dyslexia assessments, cognitive pathway programmes and integrated neurodevelopment support. Every recommendation is purposeful. Every pathway is designed to reduce fragmentation and increase coherence.

This work is deeply personal to me. Not because of a trend or a niche, but because I have witnessed the long-term impact of misunderstanding. Children do not get these years back. Adults should not carry unnecessary narratives about intelligence.

If you are looking for thoughtful, research-informed, neurodevelopment support grounded in both classroom reality and cognitive science, you are in the right place.
